About us
At Mission Impact Legal Advisors, we provide strategic, preventative legal counsel to nonprofits and mission-driven businesses that are building a better world. We understand that compliance isn't just a checkbox—it's the foundation that protects your people, your purpose, and your progress. Founded by Thania Diaz Clevenger, Esq., MILA was created to bridge the gap between legal precision and impact-driven leadership. We help organizations stay legally sound, structurally strong, and aligned with their values—without the jargon, overwhelm, or courtroom drama.
Our team brings deep experience in nonprofit operations, governance, employment law, and risk management—offering proactive legal strategy that empowers your work from the inside out.
How we got started
Mission Impact Legal Advisors was born from lived experience at the intersection of advocacy, nonprofit leadership, and the law. After years of navigating the legal gaps that too often hold mission-driven organizations back, our founder, Thania Diaz Clevenger, envisioned a firm built not just to fix legal problems—but to prevent them.
MILA is more than an acronym. It's also a nod to Milagros—the Spanish word for “miracles”—and a daily reminder of our aspiration: to be a source of strength, clarity, and transformation for the people and organizations working to make the world better.
We built MILA to bring legal structure to mission work—because protecting your vision shouldn't come at the cost of your values.
